Pseudoaneurysm as a cause of secondary postpartum hemorrhage: a case report and literature review

Abstract
Pseudoaneurysm is a rare cause of delayed or secondary postpartum hemorrhage and pre-sents as episodes of sudden brisk bleeding which may be severe and life threatening. We report a case of 23 year-old pregnant women with postpartum hemorrhage following cesar-ean section due to a pseudoaneurysm of the uterine artery that was subsequently treated with embolization of left uterine artery. We also review the previous cases in the literature with treatment methods.
